Why buy Powerflex polyurethane suspension bushes?

Polyurethane has been around as a specialized plastic for 30 years, but only the latest advances have made it possible to bring very special properties to this exciting material. Chassis bushings are the most stressed components on the entire vehicle. They have to endure the stress without maintenance and lubrication in the most difficult environments.

The material from which chassis bushes are usually made is a rubber compound that deteriorates with age. It becomes softer and more pliable, the resistance it offers to the forces acting on it becomes less and less. Because of this, there is more play in the suspension components and less and less control to hold the geometry.

This in turn causes accelerated tire wear, braking instability and poor handling. This is the main reason why you can immediately feel the difference between a 3 year old vehicle and a new car. But new vehicles can also benefit from Powerflex suspension bushes. They offer - due to their superior design - better control over the chassis components than normal chassis bushings usually offer.

With the technical advance of this material, the company Powerflex succeeded in solving the problem of harder chassis bushings, which led to increased noise. By developing the right polyurethane composite material, the Powerflex chassis bushings could be 25-30% stiffer than new rubber bushings with the same noise-absorbing properties.
